On the 21st of July 2018 the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Somalia & Somaliland Mr. David Concar officially handed over to the President of the University Of Hargeisa Dr Mohamoud Yusuf Muse the broadcasting/journalism studio that was built for the University by United Kingdom through UK AID DFID.
The event was attended by the Dean of Social Sciences & Humanities Muktar Abbi, the Minster of Information & National Guidance Abdirahman Abdilahi Farah Diriye (Guri-garwaaqo), Minister of Telecommunication and Technology Dr. Abdiwali Sheikh Abdilahi.
The main objective of this studio is to serve as a practice ground for the students currently doing their undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communications at the University Of Hargeisa, the United Kingdom through UK AID DFID have been paying for the students tuition fees to attend journalism and mass communication at the University Of Hargeisa, also they are going to train two individuals on the interworking’s of the studio.
The studio is also at the expense of national use for instance like the use by Somaliland National TV.
