University of Hargeisa participated in Somaliland Medical fair and Conference and became the best University that took part in the fair referring to the services it has provided the visitors and guests in the fair and conference. During the three days in the fair and conference, the University medical team managed to provide a free medical service to more than 1000 people.
Doctors and students from the Faculty of Optometry and Orthoptics, senior graduated nurses, midwives, Medical students, and Medical Doctors were all present and they were working tirelessly for their people in need. The medical team of the University in the fair were providing the services in three stations. Station one named First Aid “Gargaarka Degdega” was helping the people to check themselves such as checking the blood pressure, knowing the blood type and etc. Station two named Talk to Your Doctor “La kulan dhakhtarkaaga” was giving patients medical advice, there were professional doctors at this station and people were very satisfied and grateful to see their doctors providing free medical services to their people. station three named check your eyes ”Hubi Aragaaga” was also a very interesting and appreciated one. The doctors and other medical staff in this station were helping people know the condition of their eyes and their seeing ability.
For this great and outstanding performance, the University of Hargeisa was recognized as the best University that participated in the fair and was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Ministry of Health Development.
Special gratitude goes to the top management of the University, the College of Medicine and Health Science staff, the University medical team in the fair led by Dr.Jinow and everyone who took a crucial part to make the University participation in the fair and conference successful.
