Key functions such as recruitment, selection, development, appraisal, retention, compensation, and labor relations are examined. Implications of legal and global environments are appraised and current issues such as diversity training, sexual harassment policies, and rising benefit costs are analyzed.

Rationale

 

The primary purpose/rationale of this short course is to develop a practical and critical introduction to the philosophy, values, policies and practices of human resource management and development.

 

Course Facilitator

 

Mohamed Sulub is the Corporate Communication director of University of Hargeisa. He has an extensive experience in the fields of Human Resource Management and development, Marketing, Communication and Public Relations. His roles of working with people/human resources extended from Human Resource officer to Communication director. Prior to his current position, he worked at OCVP as a senior researcher and translator. In addition to that, he is a regular lecturer at University of Hargeisa and several other esteemed Universities in Somaliland. Finally, Mohamed Speaks three languages; Somali, English, and Arabic fluently and capable of understanding Amharic language.
