The University of Hargeisa, in partnership with Oxfam, has established a career center that will encompass employability and entrepreneurship training.
The core mission of the employability center is to equip students and the recently-graduated students of the University of Hargeisa with job requisite skills to overcome the employment and entrepreneurship challenges in Somaliland. The center is admitting the first cohort of employment and entrepreneurship training comprising 300 students with a 50% female ratio. This employability training and the other center services will be free of charge. The career center model is designed to enable students to get jobs after the successful completion of the training, as they will be placed into an internship opportunity in the public, private, and non-governmental organizations.
THIS TRAINING OPPORTUNITY WILL HELP YOU:
- Connect you to the employment market and equip you with the appropriate skills and competences.
- Initiate/start your own business and obtaining the required skills and knowledge.
CRITERIA
- You must be a junior, senior, or recently-graduated (Last two years: 2018, 2019) student at the University of Hargeisa.
- You must currently be unemployed.
- Your age should be between 15 – 30 years. Your GPA should be 2.0 or higher.
- You must be seeking a job or thinking of creating a business.
- After the training, you must be ready for 3 to 6 months of internship.
- You must have a good command of English
- You must have an Email and contacts information.
- You must not have any drug user (Khat, Cigarette or similar drug addictions)
- You must be fully committed to finishing the training at the scheduled time.
HOW TO APPLY
Students still studying at the University should send an application letter and CV with testimonial letter and CGPA from their College Dean to the below email address. Recent graduates should also send their application and CV with the Degree Certificate and Transcript to the below email address.
