College of Engineering

Deans Message

On behalf of the University of Hargeisa College of Engineering faculty, staff, students, and alumni, I welcome your visit to our College website.

With more than 1000 students now studying in our programs, the College of Engineering is the second largest College in this University and we offer different engineering programs at a bachelor levels, namely—Civil Engineering, Electric and Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering and Architecture and Urban Planning.

Engineering and technology are instruments for the advancement of humankind. Great world challenges from struggling world economies, environmental and energy crisis, to social, educational, and health inequities—represent an opportunity for engineers to contribute and make a difference.

At University of Hargeisa, College of Engineering we educate students to be leaders in development so we provide an academic portfolio through the disciplines of engineering to engage them in envisioning learning excellence, research exploration and then finally specialized technical areas that are of a great demand and needed by the industry to serve our nation—Somaliland—and the global community.

Engineers are needed more than ever here in Somaliland! Therefore, we focus our effort on preparing engineering professionals to face contemporary engineering challenges that are currently prevailing the world in general and particularly in our country, so in order to face to challenges and many others we come up with solutions to make matters better through smart, sustainable solutions that are created and implemented with knowledge, ethics, passion and compassion.

We invite you to browse our website to find out more about our engineering programs available through UoH College of Engineering, and feel free to contact me directly with any question you may have about our programs.
